![]() ![]() My only evidence for this is the fact that prices remained exactly the same for the 2020 M1 machines relative to their same-year Intel counterparts, and the hefty price bump for the M2 MB/MBA. It was a great move, because the product actually was a great performer, but they knew that they had to clear that threshold to gain enough adoption. ![]() They knew that they would have to offer great performance at a great price to get people to jump on board with Apple Silicon in a desktop machine, so they put it in old hardware to cut cost and probably even priced them at break even or deficits in order to get them off the shelves. My guess is that this was Apple's strategy. The value proposition on the M1 MBA is amazing. Honestly, for hardware, this smokes almost all $799 Windows laptops. ![]()
